Join us for a jam packed day of learning the skills you need to get and keep a job in an interactive group setting. Create your own employment profile to explore career interests, learn about responsibility skills through play in our Time Blocks and Team Building Games, begin building your resume one block at a time, go through an interview simulation, and more!
What are Empower Me! Workshops?
Employment workshops for youth with disabilities, ages 14-21. Participants get to collaborate with their peers during a fast-paced day of interactive games and activities developed to excite them with video game themes, while challenging them with real-world scenarios to learn skills they’ll use on the job. These skills include communication, stress management, prioritization, time management, confidence, and professionalism. By focusing on their interests and strengths, they can develop a personalized plan of the resources and education they will need to reach their specific goals, because we believe that EVERYONE can work when they have the right resources and accommodations. These workshops include career exploration, developing soft skills for success, the realities and joys of employment, writing a resume, a job interview experience, researching and requesting accommodations, navigating disability disclosure, and finding the educational path needed to reach goals.
Who Can Attend?
Empower Me! Workshops are open to youth with all disabilties, ages 14-21, who are Pre-ETS consumers. Ask your Specialist about a workshop happening near you!
